The Beijing Organising Committee for the Olympic Games wanted a film that would excite the Chinese public about the coming 2008 Games and emphasise its welcome to visitors from all over the world.
We based our idea around the red seats of the iconic Bird’s Nest stadium - taking them out into the city itself. Our aim: to bring the games to the people.
Working very closely with local production teams and employing an all-Chinese crew we were careful to capture and convey the authentic flavour of the host city.
To assist us we called on the Beijing public as extras, filming in 9 locations over 3 days, often closing parts of the city when the shots required. Our film was shown in cinemas across China, on big screens at prestigious Olympic events and on international airlines flying into China during the run-up to the Games.
